Baby loss counselling and support charity Held In Our Hearts receives £3,000 VINCI UK Foundation grant

The VINCI UK Foundation has granted Held in Our Hearts £3,000 to replace its old laptops and ease its mission to support families through the death of a baby through specialised bereavement services, including befriending and counselling.

As sponsor, VINCI Energies UK & RoI employee Elizabeth Millar, who is a HR Business Partner at Omexom, will also provide practical assistance to the charity.

“Held In Our Hearts is an incredible charity that provides invaluable support to families suffering the loss of a child. The compassionate staff recognise that everyone’s journey after loss is different and offer flexible services to reflect this. It is an honour to be able to support their compassionate work in our own small way,” Elizabeth said.

Angie Alexander, Chief Operating Officer at Held In Our Hearts, said: “We are very grateful for the support of the VINCI UK Foundation. Like many organisations over the past 18 months, we’ve had to take our services online, so replacing our laptops will make it easier for us to provide families with quality, personalised support even when we can’t be face to face.

“We are also pleased to have the support of Elizabeth as sponsor. As a small charity, we do not have a formal HR role within the team so we would love to draw on her professional knowledge and experience, such as how to do an HR audit of our policies and procedures, identify any gaps and create new ones where needed.”

The VINCI UK Foundation, established in 2016, aims to combine financial donations with the practical expertise of VINCI employees to support charities tackling social exclusion. Since then, the Foundation has helped 169 charities across the UK and Ireland with almost £1.2 million in grants, strengthening the communities surrounding VINCI businesses.
