Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre
Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre (CRMC) has been awarded £5,000 by the VINCI UK Foundation to help refurbish the facilities at its new HQ.
The Foundation is supported by Solihull-headquartered Actemium UK, part of the VINCI Energies group; the Actemium Sponsor will volunteer her time to help with further fundraising and support.
CRMC requested support from the VINCI UK Foundation to help refurbish flooring and lighting fixtures at its new site, which will act as a space in which refugees are helped to better integrate with their new communities. Janette Jenkins, an Office Administrator at Actemium Birmingham, will act as the charity’s project Sponsor and bring in support from her colleagues to help the charity install cost-effective and environmentally sustainable materials and equipment.
The VINCI UK Foundation, funded by VINCI businesses across the UK, supports groups and charities which work to tackle exclusion, foster community integration and improve access to employment and housing. Launched in early 2016, the Foundation is unique in its support for good causes due to its specific focus and provision of skilled volunteers.
Jeremy Mead, Facilities Officer, CRMC, said:
“Our new centre will help us to continue and improve the support we provide to refugees and migrants and better help them to settle, integrate and contribute to life in Coventry.
Financial support from the VINCI UK Foundation, as well as the time volunteered by our Actemium project Sponsor, will be invaluable in helping us to deliver a safe and welcoming space.”
Through the Foundation, all VINCI’s employees, from apprentices to senior management, can use their experience and skills to benefit their local communities.
