Children First Derby
Support towards a better future
Children First Derby provides supervised contact, family support and mentoring services to vulnerable children and families.
The Mentoring Service sees trained volunteers give one-to-one support to young people aged 10-16 experiencing a variety of life challenges including anxiety, social isolation and poor school attendance. The Family Support Service offers vulnerable families with children up to age 18 the opportunity to meet, get support and advice to help them get through tough times.
Funding provided by the VINCI UK Foundation : £8,100.
Children First Derby will use this grant to recruit, train and supervise up to 60 new volunteers to support the work of the charity, the demand being very high for their Mentoring and Family Support services.
VINCI Sponsor: Malcolm HUGHES, Business Unit Manager, Actemium East Midlands.
- Malcolm will get involved directly into the Mentoring Service by becoming a mentor himself.
- His business experience will also be helpful on management and fundraising matters.
