Coventry Cyrenians

Back to independency

Coventry Cyrenians offers temporary housing, support and training to people who lost their homes mainly through bad debt and social downfalls. The objective is to give these people the skills and tools to live independently again.

“Windsor’s and Refreshed” is a café/shop where you can find second-hand clothing and bric-a-brac. The shop, whose profits contribute to the functioning of the charity as well as other local charities in need, provides training and work experience to the people Cyrenians helps to give them useful skills when going back on the job market.

Funding provided by the VINCI UK Foundation: £7,000.

Thanks to this award, Cyrenians will be able to buy a new van, which will be used to collect more clothes and bric-a-brac for the shop and to transport furnishings to and from the accommodation that they provide for the homeless.

VINCI Sponsors:

  • Ruth Ottley, administrator, VINCI Energies UK
  • Bruno Seguin, head of communication, VINCI Energies UK
  • James Anderson, sector director, VINCI Facilities

Ruth and James will arrange for a mass collection of clothes and bric-a-brac throughout VINCI offices and will review CVs for the individuals looking for work. Bruno will use his expertise in communications to benefit the charity.
