The VINCI UK Foundation has awarded the Friends of the Castle School £10,000 to purchase a multi-purpose vehicle which can be used to take students to and from their work placements. The Castle School has a very active work experience programme with the majority of Post-16 students attending a regular placement at an external organisation at least once a week. These placements are vital for creating future employment opportunities for the students.
The Friends of Castle School is a charity that aims to advance the education of the pupils with learning difficulties at the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education and to promote the social inclusion and community development. This charity helps the pupils with learning difficulties at the Castle School and their families by providing them with opportunities to interact and attend events which may otherwise be inaccessible to them due to their disabilities or lack of provision.
