Perry RDA
Perry RDA
Perry RDA has been awarded £5,000 by the VINCI UK Foundation to finance the project ‘Harnessing Community Spirit – Recruiting, Engaging and Developing Volunteers’
The Foundation is supported by Freyssinet, part of the VINCI Energies group; the Freysinnet Sponsor will help on digital marketing guidance and publicity streams.
Perry RDA requested support from the VINCI UK Foundation to finance the Harnessing Community Spirit project. To recruit volunteers from the local community; in particular young people, people with disabilities and older adults – as we feel these target groups have the most to gain from volunteering. They will do this by maximising publicity of our volunteering, work experience and work placement opportunities. They will work with community group and organisations (town /parish councils, Age UK, Shropshire Mind, Schools and FE institutions) to create awareness of the opportunities and related benefits. Clare White, a marketing and communication organiser, will act as the charity’s project Sponsor and will be involved in digital marketing guidance and publicity streams.
More about the charity, Perry RDA is a small and friendly establishment providing both riding and driving facilities solely for disabled people. Responding to a local need to provide equine provision for children and adults with disabilities, the charity is unique due to its current provision of therapeutic riding, carriage driving, hippotherapy (equine therapy) and equestrian vaulting for children and adults with special needs. Visitors are able to enjoy a connection with horses, which is proven to promote physical and mental health.
The VINCI UK Foundation, funded by VINCI businesses across the UK, supports groups and charities which work to tackle exclusion, foster community integration and improve access to employment and housing. Launched in early 2016, the Foundation is unique in its support for good causes due to its specific focus and provision of skilled volunteers.
Through the Foundation, all VINCI’s employees, from apprentices to senior management, can use their experience and skills to benefit their local communities.
