Churches Action for The Homeless (CATH)
Churches Action for The Homeless (CATH) has been awarded £10,000 by the VINCI UK Foundation to buy a new van that will be used to support homeless people in the city.
The Foundation is supported by Perth-based Omexom UK & ROI, part of the VINCI Energies group; the Omexom Sponsor will volunteer her time to help with various practical work.
CATH requested support from the VINCI UK Foundation to help purchase a new van that will carry out roles including resettling of homeless people into secure accommodation and providing a vital transport link for vulnerable people in Perth who are socially excluded in their day-to-day lives. Kristina Masiuleviciene, an Administrative Assistant at Omexom’s Perth office, will act as the charity’s project Sponsor and volunteer her time to helping carry out its work.
The VINCI UK Foundation, funded by VINCI businesses across the UK, supports groups and charities which work to tackle exclusion, foster community integration and improve access to employment and housing. Launched in early 2016, the Foundation is unique in its support for good causes due to its specific focus and provision of skilled volunteers.
Elaine Lamb, HR Coordinator, CATH, added:
“Our new multi-purpose van will mean we can extend our reach to help even more vulnerable people in Perth who suffer from a lack of access to housing and a huge degree of social exclusion.
“Financial support from the VINCI UK Foundation, as well as the time volunteered by our Omexom project Sponsor, will be crucial for continuing our work to support the homeless in Perth & Kinross.”
Through the Foundation, all VINCI’s employees, from apprentices to senior management, can use their experience and skills to benefit their local communities.
