Addiction Northern Ireland
Addiction Northern Ireland
A better access for a bigger impact
Addiction Northern Ireland provides professionally delivered treatment and support to people struggling with alcohol and/or drug dependency, and those affected by someone else’s addiction.
Their aim is to insure easy access, equality and inclusion, which is why they have centres in East, West and South Belfast, and offer the possibility to visit the clients unable to attend the clinics at their homes.
The service is delivered by professionally trained counsellors in a safe and confidential setting. They support individuals in addressing the underlying issues and challenges they are facing. The counsellors then work with these clients to develop strategies and tools to better manage their situation.
Funding provided by the VINCI UK Foundation : £12,000.
This grant will allow the purchase of a multi-use drug and mobile unit. The project will be focus on hard to reach communities, specifically closed communities in socially and economically deprived areas. Individuals residing in these areas are less likely to seek support and treatment outside their own community boundaries. This mobile unit would go into the communities and provide 1-1 advice, guidance, group awareness and support to those directly affected. It will provide a neutral venue for members of the community to seek support.
VINCI Sponsor: Clare DORAN, HR Manager, Omexom UK.
- Many of the individuals supported have lost employment due to their alcohol and drug use. Clare’s experience and expertise in the field of HR will benefit to individuals seeking to go back on the job market.
- She will also help in running additional workshops in the preparation of CVs and interview technique.
