In 2017, the VINCI UK Foundation proudly funded 24 projects across all the United Kingdom awarding a total of £190,000 and involving 29 VINCI’s employees.

2nd Rossendale Scout Group

The Scout Group undertakes community based projects such as afternoon teas and dinners for the elderly or free concerts. They also offer the opportunity to learn to play an instrument for free and to join one of their four music bands. The Vinci Foundation provides a grant to the Group towards the refurbishment of their kitchen. It would enable more events to be organized in the Group’s headquarter.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £5,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Marc Evans (Vibro Menard) will ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget thanks to his project management skills. .

Angus riding for the disabled

Since 1969, Angus RDA has provided people with various disabilities such as learning difficulties or cerebral palsy riding session. It offers a form of therapy as it improves balance and posture and provides challenges for those with low confidence or self-esteem. The Vinci’s grant will be used to buy a new pony.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £5,500.

VINCI Sponsor: Craig Birse-Archbold (Omexom) will give health and safety advice to the charity.

ARC HEALTHY LIVING CENTER

ARC Healthy Living Centre provides proactive services to help local people to lead healthier and happier lives. Their core activities include job creation, education and relief hunger. They were awarded a grant from the Vinci Foundation to develop a community kitchen that will supply healthy low cost meals to local people in need.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsors: Ryan Monaghan (Omexom UK) will bring his technical knowledge and experience to oversee the electric installation in the kitchen. Clare Doran (Omexom UK) will support trainees in writing their CVs and preparing interviews.

BLUEBELL WOOD CHILDREN’S HOSPICE

The Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice takes care of children and young adults with life-shortening and their families. The Vinci’s grant will be used to purchase a car which will be used to bring children, young people and their families on day trips to spend quality time together.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £15,495.

VINCI Sponsor: Cheryl Freeman (Eurovia) will help with fundraising and sponsorship events.

CHURCHES ACTION FOR THE HOMELESS (CATH)

For 24 years, CATH has been supported homeless people or people at risk of homelessness through various services including the provision of hostel accommodations for service users in need or the support of a Resettlement and Tenancy Team. The Vinci’s grant will be used to purchase a multi purpose vehicle to improve the charity’s services.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Kristina Masiuleviciene(Omexom) will help with tasks and skills.

CHUCKLE PRODUCTIONS

Chuckle Productions aims at introducing learning to children in a fun and interactive way. They provide the well-being needed for the children to learn, play and socialise while supporting their families through their parent support group. The Vinci’s grant will enable the company to purchase and install a new heating/cooling system. It will allow them to concentrate their funding on children’s activities.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £7,619.

VINCI Sponsor: Chris Hutchinson (Vinci Energies UK) will be the project manager for the installation of the heating/cooling system.

CHURCH CROOKHAM AND FLEET MEN’S SHED

The organisation promotes men’s health and wellbeing by preventing social exclusion. They want to build a new shed where members would be able to gather and collaborate on projects. The Vinci’s grant will be used to erect fencing around the site and to install an extra camera to reinforce the security.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £3,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Andrew Mulheirn (Axians Networks Ltd) will assist the building of the Shed.

COVENTRY REFUGEE AND MIGRANT CENTRE

The Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre meets the need of refugees and migrants to help them settle in Coventry and to support their integration. They were awarded a grant from the Vinci Foundation to renovate the premises the Centre will moved into in September 2017. The place would be used not only to support the beneficiaries but also to educate the general public about immigration.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £5,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Janette Jenkins (Actemium) will help to run activities and events for the charity.

CREEKSIDE EDUCATION TRUST

The Charity aims to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in the Deptford Creek through the delivering of educational sessions for local children and the running of recreational activities. The Vinci’s grant will be used to purchase the equipment needed for the implementation of a new program focusing on social cohesion and to update the charity’s website.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £12,590.

VINCI Sponsor: Barbara Lantz and Thomas Gimez (Vinci Construction Grands Projets) will help the charity with its expansion project by giving advice on the tendering process for example.

Friends of The French Institute

The Friends of the French Institute promotes the French language and culture in the United Kingdom. Thanks to the Vinci’s grant, the Institute will be able to renew its French Boxes (each composed of 30 French classics) to provide quality learning to young students including those in underprivileged areas.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £3,900.

VINCI Sponsor: Clarence Michel (Vinci Construction Grands Projets) will be involve in the organisation of children oriented activities and events.

Friends of Bewsey Park

The Bewsey community Park Centre provides much needed facilities and opportunities for local people to get support and be supported in their everyday life and for the communities based on the area to organise events promoting social cohesion. The Vinci’s grant will be used to equip the Centre with a flexible IT space and to upgrade the existing kitchen.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £7,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Julie Cartwright (Eurovia) will help with the funding.

Giving World

Giving World Online redirects business surplus goods such as warm clothes, blankets, toys or long life packaged food into the lives of the more vulnerable and isolated people. The charity also offers a skill development program for adults in need. A new website would be develop thanks to the Vinci’s donation to improve the visibility of the charity and therefore to reach more people.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £8,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Sharfuddin Farooqui (AND Automation) will support volunteers with confidence building and interviews preparation.

Green Lane Playground

Through its sensory room, its playroom and its outdoor space, the Green Lane Playground offers a safe, friendly and stimulating environment for pre-school children with special needs. The Vinci’s grant will enable the charity to erect a permanent canopy in the outdoor space, so that the children can benefit from the freedom and the fresh air of being outdoors, and to create a sensory garden.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Paul Williams and Rena Forrester (Actemium) will participate in the implementation of the project and will mobilise groups for collecting donations.

Hawley Community Garden

The Mayfield Community Partnership promotes well-being, social awareness and youth opportunities to the people of the area. They have developed a brownfield site to create a community garden and established a committee to manage it. A grant has been awarded by the Vinci Foundation towards the purchase of a dry composting toilet.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £3,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Chris Merridew (Bachy Soletanche) will support the development of the brownfield site as a community garden.

Maryport Amateur Boxing Club

Maryport Amateur Boxing Club allows excluded youngsters from a deprived area of Cumbria to see what boxing and exercise can offer them. The club will build their own Boxing Gym extension. The Vinci’s grant will enable them to purchase equipment for the new building.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Steve Guilfoyle and Andrew Lynch (Nuvia) will give their engineering expertise on the construction of the new building.

Mini Mermaid Running Club

Mini Mermaids Running Club is a programme for girls in primary school which aims at encouraging a life long love of activity and increasing self confidence. With the help of the Vinci Foundation, the club will be able to buy technical T-shirts, handbooks, medals.. all the material needed to run the programme.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £5,000.

VINCI Sponsor: David Boswell (Eurovia) will help with the development of the project in underprivileged areas of London.

Perry RDA Ltd

Perry RDA provides therapeutic riding, carriage driving, hippotherapy and equestrian vaulting for disabled people. The charity enables its visitors to enjoy a connection with horses, which is proven to promote physical and mental health. The Vinci’s grant will be used to recruit new volunteers so as to increase the number of beneficiaries.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £5,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Clare White (Freyssinet) will provide digital marketing guidance and publicity streams.

Riverside Church

Riverside Church offers various services including free English lessons, lunches and breakfasts or money courses dedicated to the people of the community. They aim at turning a disused warehouse into a permanent children and youth club facility. The Vinci’s grant will allow them to complete the refit of the warehouse by relaying the concrete floor and purchase a cushioned vinyl floor covering.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £4,200.

VINCI Sponsor: Philip Torr (Bachy Soletanche) will bring advice and labour to the project.

Slough Homeless, Our Concern (SHOC)

SHOC supports people suffering homelessness and people at risk of homelessness by providing a full range of services including hot meals, shower facilities, health and well being support or help to get an accommodation. They were awarded a grant from the Vinci Foundation to refurbish the kitchen.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Philomena Parr (Simplex Westpile) will volunteer to support the service.

St Rocco’s Hospice

St Rocco’s Hospice offers care and support to anyone living with a life limiting or terminal illness in the area of Warrington. Thanks to the Vinci Foundation, they will be able to carry on the ROcON initiative, which brings children and young people in to the hospice environment, to work on craft based projects with patients, carers and the bereaved.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £3,000.

The Coventry Charity Almshouses

The Coventry Charity Almshouses provides low cost supported houses with health and well-being activities for elderly residents of restricted financial means. The charity wants to improve the access to their houses through the installation of ramps, handrails or safe walkways. It will enable them to improve the safety of residents and to offer homes to new residents with wheelchair access needed.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £10,000.

VINCI Sponsor: Lewis Bridgman (Ringway Infrastructure Services) will continue to offer its expertise during the duration of works.

TOWNER LEARNING PROPOSAL

Towner is a charity whose mission is for everyone to experience, to enjoy and to participate in culture and art for free. The charity proposes world class exhibitions and delivers a Learning Programme for children and families, including those with the least access to art. With the help of the Vinci Foundation’s Towner will be able to refurbish its Art Box Learning Space and to provide new digital resources.

Funding provided by the Foundation: £7,850.

VINCI Sponsor: Richard Etherington and Jason Griffiths (Vinci Construction UK) will support and advice on updating the Art Box Learning Space.
